Short Review: Solo NY – Unbound Backpack, A Bag For Flying

For frequent flyers, the security checkpoint can be the determining factor if you get to the airport an hour early, or three hours early. And between your slip-on shoes, your pants that don’t need a belt, and throwing all your change at charity bell ringers, getting through those TSA bottlenecks gets a little troublesome.

I’ve experienced it myself. Everyone owns a computer, but the moment you send one through the x-ray, everything grinds to a halt. Taking apart your travel survival kit isn’t ideal. Which is why the Unbound Backpack from Solo NY was an interesting product to receive for review.

Between laptops, tablets, microphones, headphones, and any other peripherals, I realize I am looking mighty suspicious. I mean, who needs all of that? A commie?! But alas, that’s my burden. And being able to unpack my pack in seconds, rather than minutes, and put everything securely back in place after the frantic cavity searches/polyps check gets me to my Panda Express* all the sooner.

The large sleeve along the back of the padded bag keeps these devices in place and safe from any minor bump or kicks. Fits a maximum of 15.6″ laptop, and plenty of room for all the toys a recording-on-the-go needs. Stows under the seat or in the over-head bin easily. With the best feature for me. Well made. Great durability, so it will continue to be witness to contorting radio hosts for years to come. Not as pricey as some, and I feel it’s extremely competitive at $87.

Check it out here, no affiliate link. We enjoyed the bag. We feel you will too.
