We have all seen the videos of drivers acting erratically, crashes that come out of nowhere, and more. Just recently, an acquaintance had a run in with a hit/run. When you’re in the moment, details of what happened can easily slip your mind, or not even notice them in the first place.
This little guy is the 70mai Dash Cam Lite, a new entry trying to break into the US market. Interesting to say the least, it’s a rather simple camera, built with many of the features you’d expect, and some you wouldn’t at this price point.
Wide field of view, easy setup, long cord to easily hide your install. Parking surveillance as well comes automatically. I would have liked to see a small 16gb or 32gb come pre-packaged with the device, as not having a storage card will render the entire device unusable.
The app is available via both android and iOS. Seems to have a bit more functionality with android, so keep that in mind. The power comes from a cigarette lighter, which is high demand in our vehicle. The video is clear, and can be connected to your phone to store it there, so you don’t have to worry about pulling it off your MicroSD card after the fact. The camera connects to your phone through Wi-Fi, allowing that flow of data.
Overall, the setup process was intuitive. The output is perfect, and audio is decent. Should be enough for evidence if the worst happens. For the price, I would say the Dash Cam Lite by 70mai is worth checking out.
The second part of this review is the 70mai Jump Starter. Obviously, a dead battery in a pinch is awful. And flagging someone down is hard, or impossible late at night. While mostly useful for smaller batteries such as motorcycles and scooters, it has a “boost” button to get those larger car batteries up and running. Last ditch device, but great to have in the trunk in a pinch. It also charges off of USB and has a flashlight built in. Great for emergencies.
