Thoughts: LG is heavily leaning into the idea that you can use real time data from all of the different appliances/smart phones/sensors in their products to learn your habits and routines. The danger becomes when LG wants to influence your routines and daily life by nudging you in the directions they decide. Why bother going out for groceries when LG can pick out all your favorites and have them delivered? Why order a new brand of laundry detergent when LG has a deal to sell you Tide in the app. Ease of use can swing both ways, and while convenient, this can lead to manipulation. Would like to further clarify what data is kept, what is tracked, and what is used with advertisers. Because everything is centered around the individual, privacy and security is dead in these example videos LG put on.
